Even deeper down the rabbit hole, we should be going with the Dodge Caravan. It defined the later half of the 80s.

For all of the cool and super optimistic wonder cars we got from the 80s, this is the correct answer. The K car saved Chrysler and basically punched the template for the American family vehicle of the next few decades. Unibody FWD passenger cars and minivans have lost much of their market share to crossovers and trucks

I’m not sure which car is “The Most 80s.” But whatever it is, it’s definitely a K-Car.

And it has the benefit of letting you go from ignition to handbrake to gearshift all in one smooth motion.”

No no no no, you haul oily junk TO the scrapyard.

My girlfriend (now wife) did a couple of cross country road trips during college (about 30 days each way). We drove a ‘95 Chevy S-10 with a camper shell that was accessible via a sliding rear window.  Before we left, my brother in law and I built cabinets over the wheel wells and installed padding/carpet on the bed

Drives a modded FR-S as a sophomore in college and has 4500 to buy a second vehicle? Damn, I was lucky to treat myself to a box of kraft mac n cheese for dinner, after rent and tuition.

Jared, my man, I know you want a hatch so you can sleep in it... but hear me out: There’s a better way.

Old city infrastructure is a mess. “Running fiber” isn’t easy.

Thankfully, I haven’t lost anyone close to me. I did lose meeting my first and only (thus far) grandchild born in Australia last April. She will likely be over 18 months before we can hold her. We can’t get that time back, and I get a pang of longing and sorrow when I see other grandparents and their infant

But those who are left behind are so stunned, he wrote, we “speak not of those who died gasping or those who live now with scar-laced lungs” but of the “smaller losses”—a coffee with a new acquaintance, a cold beer in a near-empty bar, a pool party.

Nonexistent.

Sorry, Raph, but your take on eliminating traffic stops is as bad today as it was almost a year ago. I pass by a monument everyday going to and from work because some jackass didn’t think that they needed to do 15mph in a school zone and ran over a little girl and killed her. Over ten years later, I don’t think that

I’d argue that putting a battery and motor on an bicycle just adds to its carbon footprint. Pedal like its intended.”

Nice.

I grew up in Vermont and I don’t think most people are understanding what Class 4 Roads actually are.

yeah, theyre upset that ford is basically turning their road network in to a playground.... keep in mind, the roads arent maintained by tax dollars, but the dollars of the residents themselves. so it’s a considerable extra burden on the folks living there.

Imagine if Dodge came to town and held a weekend-long “Cars and Coffee Burnout Weekend” event on public roads

Yes, because Ford was specifically going to bring a lot Broncos to the area by having Bronco owner events, called the Bronco Off Roadeo, then encouraging those Bronco owners to use their Broncos on the nearby Class 4 roads.

That’s not their concern, so no. Their concern is a lot of extra traffic by tourist off-roaders degrading the roads and making noise.
