Oh you have room for three people?! You’re Lucky!
Oh you have room for three people?! You’re Lucky!
And that’s probably an “up to” number, which means in reality it will rarely ever be that high. My bet is that number is just for marketing and the car will just use the battery at low speeds, you may not be able to force it into a pure EV mode even if you wanted to. So you could go 26 miles but only as long as you…
My DeSoto has a similar thing. The peddle also activates the wipers while it’s pressed.
Guy has to be older, because “I went back inside and let them do their thing” doesn’t sound right to me. The minute it slipped off onto the oil pan I think I would have set up a video camera and started recording for exactly this reason. It was only ever going to go downhill from there. But hindsight is 20/20.
Agreed value policies for antique cars are actually relatively cheap since most states only permit limited use of antique cars and they tend to be well cared for. Question is did he have insurance on it at that point?
Especially if it sounds like the add supported version is crap. I don’t care enough to want to spend $5/month and if it’s that painful to watch with adds I’ll just go elsewhere, LOTS of content out there these days.
Yeah, uh, lighten up, Allanté owners. Maybe you kids should hang around with some Chrysler TC by Maserati owners until you feel better.
I had one of those. I was installing the clutch and transmission on my 4BTA, had the clutch all installed and torqued down and had just about finished fighting to line up the transmission and slide it into place correctly when I happened to notice the printing on the clutch plate that said “this side toward engine”.
I think a lot forget this part. Heaters were optional into at least the 60's, now it would be difficult to find a car that didn’t come with AC, and many don’t even have a trim with manual windows or locks, and even the manual transmission is dying out in cheap cars. That doesn’t even consider the required safety stuff…
Yep, there was a big factory recall because of frame rot. Don’t rember the years but it was a pretty big range. Might be one of the reasons prices are so high for them.
Trump’s never had to want for anything in his life
My understanding, and I haven’t researched this, was that many of the patents they released were mostly self serving; e.g. supercharger technology and similar things that would benefit Tesla if other manufacturers started using the same designs and technology. Otherwise there’s only so much I.P. in battery packs,…
Neutral: Yes, Tesla will still be around in 10 years, but I’m not sure they’ll be a car company like they are today. I could see them becoming like Delphi. They do have lots into battery pack and electric drivetrain design. If they can’t hack the whole car they could easily become a tier 1 supplier of electric car…
Having no idea what that skid plate looks I’m going to suggest fixes because internet expert, but I’d look at having a piece of steel cut/bent to do the same thing.
How many “kids” are buying $60k+ cars anyway? Hell I’m not a kid and every time I look at a new Caddy I can’t get over the sticker shock for even their “base” models. Guess I’m just cheap or not as well off as I thought but I don’t think there’s a lot of “millenials” shopping in that end of the car pool. Talk about…
The problem is cruising. My 61 has a 3-speed auto and while it’ll go 75 it’s turning like 3500 rpm to do it, so you go 60 or 65 to keep the motor happy and get passed by every Kia and Honda Fit on the road.
Or maybe that we should be smart about implementing it to make sure that the people it displaces have chances to move on instead of just being dumped in the unemployment line.
Really want a good option for when I (sadly) have to get rid of my Magnum RT, but that turbo four is just not going to do it. Offer the NA V6 and it will move up my list a lot.
With you on the pistons, but I always seem to want more gears. All my old iron has the power to go faster, just not the gearing, and none of it is easily fixed. So I’ll keep my 5 and 6 speed manuals and however many gears you want to throw into an auto, as long as it’s well tuned and durable enough.
At the end of the day, his EV build has the same primary issue as any other build in history. “Every time you fix something, there’s a new problem,” Belosic said.
