But I think in 20 years you'll be the happier human.

"Fair" somehow seems like not the right word when comparing adjuncts and Kardashians. Sounds like you're happy with your situation and that's awesome but most adjuncts in this country can barely pay for rent and food. Unfortunately the satisfaction of teaching doesn't seem to cover medical bills or student loans.

Which will never happen for 90% of us.

Wouldn't you want to move out ASAP if Kris Jenner was your moms?

I can't be the only one who's noticed the awkward placement of her, um, purse, can I?

Why does a 17 year old need her own house? Where is this child's mothe- - - oh. Yeah. Never mind. Run, Kylie. Run like the wind.

Two physician MDs, 8 month old and a dog, in 700 sq ft one bedroom.

Yeah but my house has one major advantage over Kylie Jenner's: no Kardashians or Jenners live in my house.

I'm 31, with a master's degree, my husband is finishing up his PhD, we have a child, and we live in a 2 bedroom apartment. The American dream is dead.

I choose not to think about it because yum.

Also I'm hoping that lobster isn't alive. Imagine a lobster clamping on to your labia. ><

I mean, ultimatums save a lot of time. My last SO wanted to know if I was willing to move to her city in the next year or so to be with her. I wasn't. Relationship over, but it saved us tons of wasted time. She is now married and I'm still having fun doing the bachelor thing.

How is Mitchikins trolling, exactly?

I know that now. "Don't you trust me" + gaslighting is a serious red flag, but I didn't know about it at the time. Dude was so emotionally abusive.

Agree, totally. I wouldn't jump right to the ultimatum, but yeah, if there is something that needs to change or you don't want to be in the relationship, it is totally fair to lay that on the line. If they are more attached to their behavior than they are to you, then ok. You aren't obligated to stay in a

I think you're completely right. I've been the friend, and I've been the insecure gf. Not proud of my tendency toward jealousy, and work to be rational and fair about it, making sure that I bring it up in a calm way when I first feel it and in a way that makes it clear that I know it's my own problem but that I need

Disagree. Ultimatums *can* be controlling and manipulative. If all you're doing is trying to get someone to do what you want, that's controlling and manipulative. But if they are honest reflections of your feelings—"I need you to stop drinking or I'm going to leave"—then they are fair.

Please do it sooner rather than later. I was in a dead-end relationship (see my story elsewhere in this thread) and kept it going WAY longer than it should because I didn't want to go through the pain of a breakup. Should've just done it and been over it, but instead I wasted YEARS on that asshole.
