It's crazy indeed, but it's also not surprising if you really think about it. New TVs are fun, but it's nothing like a house—it's so much harder to emotionally detach yourself when you're buying a house. Plus, you're dealing with such a huge amount of money that sometimes it's difficult to really put in perspective.

I mean, it would be kind of a bummer if you found out they only lookout for themselves the whole time, only when the water started rushing into the car.

There's only 3 questions you need to know: 1) How many Walkers has she killed? 2) How many people has she killed? 3) Why?

This makes a lot of sense. When your life feels "unstable" you see a risk as a bad thing. You have too many balls in the air and you're trying to bring stability and juggle it all. This makes risks have a bad connotation because you don't want to add another ball into the mix. However, when your life is "stable"

All circumstances. The nature of trust is that you let someone into your heart in such a manner that they can hurt you.

Under what circumstances can you ever really trust another person...

Ask why past relationships ended. If they're still bitter or angry or have loads of bad things to say about their ex/s dig further. I say this because I have never had any reason to badmouth any ex, even when the breakup hurt. I knew they were generally good guys. When I divorced my husband it was due to discovering

I think not going to college was completely unheard of for a lot of folks. I know it was for me—not even something my parents wanted me to joke about, haha. But I think people are starting to come around to the idea that college is not some magical land that guarantees you work and money forever. I do think there's

Congrats on getting them paid off, though! But yeah, if only that advice were true :/

My career trajectory is looking pretty positive right now, so at this point I would say a tentative yes (BA, MPA). However, without some fortunate networking, I never would have gotten my first job that put me on my current path. If I had it to do over again, I would likely have gotten training as a journeyman

I was prepared to say that none of these drawings encapsulate my disheveled boringness, but then I saw Haggard Art Lady. I am her, she is me.

Yea... about the grad students not needing to attend. As a former grad student, I'm calling BULLSHIT buckoooooo. Sometimes I think the higher you climb the academic ranks the more fucked up your perceptions of power dynamics becomes.

I think this program, with better movies, should become a requirement for Universities receiving Federal Aid.

That's how they get away with it! Until we're experienced and prepared to react quickly to red flags, we assume there's a good reason or something we can't see because WE would never treat someone like that. Anyway, it's almost like a right of passage, dating someone like that. And then you look back and go... what

That's amazing! Kudos. When's your book coming out?

I'm gonna go on a bit of a rant here. I'm all for therapy. I think it should be covered under the most basic health plans. That said...just going to a therapist who will not confront you or force you do examine your behavior and modify it...you are missing the point.

You deserve someone who will make it absolutely clear to you that he treasures you.

I got over my ex by telling my story at The Moth in New York. It was the only kind of catharsis I could afford: telling a roomful of strangers.

My ex talked me into going into therapy because I was depressed and socially anxious, and then that led to me getting incredibly, incredibly lonely. I couldn't stand to be around anyone but I couldn't bear to be alone so we spent all of our time together, feeding off each others neuroses.

"No I don't think it really cures anything, but it gives you a language with which to understand your own bullshit..."
