I'd let kids watch fairy tales, but then I'd show them 'Into the Woods' to tie it all together, and talk with them about how the female characters in that kick the butts of all the ones in the "real" fairy tales.

oh, this needs to be settled without a fight, via Jaime somehow getting Cersai to stop loving him. Cersai would never let it actually happen—she'd poison Brienne or otherwise have her killed in some sneaky quiet way rather than face up to an actual fight.
Is this the start of something? #teambrienne
This!
what, new Daario? I'm just gonna call him Becky from now on.
I definitely get the sense that he loves her, but it's unclear whether that's a sexy love of a brothers-in-arms sort of love. I hope it's sexy love though, Cersai's a witch.
I just... Why? There's a part of me that gets why people kill, why people steal. I don't understand why someone even does this. What are they getting out of it?
I always feel a bit stupid when these issues come up. I'm a white girl with unruly curly hair (not the nice neat curls like you see on tv—the frizzy kind that needs to be tamed every morning, or sometimes multiple times throughout the day, that has a patch in the back of an entirely different texture than the rest).…
The guitarist got our processional song and our first dance song mixed up. I know it, maybe nobody else noticed. Did it annoy me? Sure. The processional song was crap for dancing! But, on the other hand, what on earth was I going to do about it? There's no rewind button, so mostly you just have to roll with things.
I was all about dogs, and my husband tried to convince me cats were better for us, for at least a year. Then we wound up sitting for a friend's cat for an extended period, and she totally converted me. I think this team dog vs. team cat this is much less binary than people would have us believe.
As someone who works in branding, I suspect that's because Roxy makes more money as a "lifestyle" brand than with legitimate surfers. It definitely sucks that they're alienating the people they hold as their aspirational ideal in the process though.
Does this "Average Woman" even exist as a complete, much less common, entity? Or is she (like most averages) a composite of the smaller individual traits of many? Yeah, I'll go off on the trials of dating if you let me, but I'll also compare which Philip K Dick novel is his best, or bike commuting. I love baking, and…
Yeah she's still billed as a main character, which was a revelation to me. I really thought she and Don were dunzo after that finale.
alternative response for #1: "Well if you had breasts as small as mine maybe it'd make you think twice before hating on other people's bodies like that."
Well the comment that she's failed to approve, thus making me look like a dick, is that I was addressing Mizrahi's overly simplistic attitude about it. But ok, if that's how we want to feel, like I just didn't read her piece because it's funner to make fun of me for that, go ahead.
I don't want that either—I can't dress that way at work anyway. I'm talking more, why keep a 4" rise on a size 14 jean, so that you can call it super-low-rise? Or the deep deep-v neckline that looks lovely in a flawy fabric for a size 2 but maybe needs some structure (strapping? a stiffer fabric?) to work on someone…
oh I didn't mean for it to sound like I was attacking you on that, more responding to the (oversimplified IMHO) way that Mizrahi talks about it. Like, oh look how simple, I include all these sizes in my line, all is well in my little world, why can't everyone be as great as me?
The integrate vs. incorporate conversation isn't that simple though. The times I've seen a brand who makes clothes in both sizes, they tend to mess the larger ones up. I find myself trying something on and going, "ok they made this in my size, but WHY?!" because it's the least flattering thing ever. I don't think…
I just have to ask, what's up with assuming this asshat works in design or tech? What did designers ever do to you?
I would've put closeups of Jack's eye at #83.
