I love how the AV Club keeps denying that they're dumbing their site down, when all evidence proves otherwise.

Glad to see Doodie Calls With Doug Mand got a nomination. I still love most of the usual podcasts on this list, but I've been starting to get into some smaller shows where the guest is on mostly just to tell stories. Doodie Calls (pants shitting), This Feels Terrible (past relationships), and Crabfeast (anything)…
I wish Kyle had done something to promote the Pardcastathon in his opening paragraph…
The guest episodes are a really fun change of pace, but I think I prefer the solo episodes.
I don't know why that word upsets so many people. Podmass's main purpose is to highlight what podcasts people with limited amounts of time should focus on for the week, as well as pointing out good places for a new or occasional listener to jump on. All "inessential" means is that it was a good episode for fans, but…
The new reviewer seems to be even more humorless and academic than the old one was. His sole criteria for a "good" episode seems to be how focused the discussion is.
So glad someone else felt this way. This was the ONLY live episode that was as good as an in-studio, if not slightly better at times. I have no idea why Seth seemed so much more comfortable than usual (was it a smaller venue than what they usually play?), but I was happy to hear it.
Direct links to episodes are back too! At least temporarily.
Yeah, if your only exposure to thick-crust pizza is stuffed, then you've eaten the wrong kind. Giordano's is pretty bad, but Lou Malnati's is great.
Here comes Bob and Carol
His wife Emily really likes him
He has five people in his grooooup
It doesn't even necessarily have anything to do with that. Even before all the best writers defected, he was still my favorite writer here (with the possible exception of Noel, depending on what day you asked). His TV Outland pieces were all outstanding pieces of writing— extremely descriptive, critical where…
Sean O'Neal is not-so-secretly the best writer on this site. As much as I enjoy Newswire, I'd really, really love to see more longer pieces from him.
I think @Factfindingmission is just saying there are shades of quality. With a show like DLM (or a lot of other shows), almost every episode is going to be good, but there are still some that are naturally going to be better than others. The biggest problem is that every Podmass writer has slightly different…
I haven't heard today's episode yet, but the ONLY people that seemed to be complaining were a few kneejerks who, as you said, hadn't even listened to it yet. Everyone who heard it seemed very positive, and also seemed to be blowing any perceived negative reaction way out of proportion.
Yeah, don't know what I was thinking. Downloading them both now.
Was "the rest" justified for both of those episodes? I normally listen to all of them, but I'm a little swamped this week.
Dykula and Paul Rust were the "actual" best parts of that episode (they were both great), but nothing will ever make me laugh harder than something as absurd as Monster Fuck: Part 2.
It went somewhere!!!!!! The creepies came back at the end!!!!!!!!!
I'm firmly on the "fan" side, but even I had some trouble with Pete in that episode. I don't think CBB is a good fit for him, since the improv-heaviness of the show and the need for give-and-take clashes so drastically with his need to be the center of attention. A more single-guest-centric show like Who Charted is…
Yeah, I thought the review was even too charitable, implying it was an interesting topic.
