Oh, I"m sure Garak hoped the datarod would have passed inspection, just as he told Sisko. I'm also sure the plan was to blow up Vreenak all along. Because, as you say, it is the stronger plan.

Interesting idea. Yeah, I don't get the impression that Vreenak would have liked Weyoun too much. Possibly since really no one seemed to like Weyoun that much.
I hope you choose to go back and watch DS9. If you liked this episode you probably would like a lot of seasons 3-7.
This is why DS9 works and ItPM works for me, but something like Into Darkness doesn't. The writers here sold the idea. They made the characters really struggle with it. These writers really showed the worth of the fight, and how those tough choices can result in things that are for the greater good. "Inquisition"…
Garak must have been so excited to have finally been given a chance to actually fucking DO SOMETHING to end the war. He'd made a couple of failing efforts before.
Robinson's book is the only Trek novel I really liked. He had such an incredible understanding of his character. Also, his description of post-war Cardassia made me wish there was another Trek series set pot-DS9.
As others here have already whined about, this makes it so damned annoying that Into Darkness even name checks S31. Why? Just a nugget tossed to Trekkies? Why bother if you aren't even using it the right way?
Wow. You hate it more than "Profit and Lace"?! Are you sure? Do you actually remember "Profit and Lace", or have you maybe (blessedly) blocked it from your memory?
Let's see…
His Way - Maybe it won't feel like such a letdown coming so long after ItPM?
Reckoning - Meh, it contributes to the sucky S7 stuff I hate
Valiant - Average
Profit and Lace - LOL! I'm not watching it, but I can't wait to read how Zack shreds it.
Time's Orphan - It's dumb
SoHV - I kind of like it
Finale - Meh
S7…
I admit, I was kind of excited at the idea of discussing "Inquisition" and "In the Pale Moonlight" together. I think these episodes complement each other so well. And combined they have something very interesting to say about DS9, the Federation and Star Trek.
That was how I always understood it. Especially when it was revealed that this was Garak's idea all along. If he was already planning on blowing it up, it wouldn't have mattered to him if the quality wasn't quite good enough to pass muster. Who cares? The quality will be so much worse after it's been blown up, right?
Damn. Two days in a row that I have known a FJ which stumped all three contestants. I tried the online test once, and it made me feel like a total idiot. The questions went so fast I barely had time to think. It was demoralizing. Don't know if I have the guts to try again.
I love this comment so much. I wish I could upvote it multiple times.
IS Disney re-releasing Pinocchio on Blu-Ray in Region 1? Because I forgot to buy it when it was out. And now the prices are way too high for my Disney price range.
Yes! My classical music degree is worth something! The satisfaction that comes from getting a FJ correct that stumps all 3 contestants!
Your podcast this week was very similar to a conversation I had with someone who is watching TNG season 1 for the first time. I, too, finally got the "Ugh, this is so bad. How long until this becomes a good show?" question. I think it was after "Symbiosis" or "Skin of Evil" for my friend.
Wait, I read this over. Is this really exclusive to XBox? Seriously? Even though the other forms of Peggle were released as computer games?
I thought Peggle was one of the best time wasting games of ALL TIME when I played it. I couldn't believe the addictive quality of such a simple game. I have bought every Peggle game, plus many of the level extensions. It has now maybe replaced solitaire as my computer game of choice.
This was a pretty awful episode. None of the characters behaved like themselves. The lack of logic in this sequence of events is not just sitcom-like, but dumb sitcom-like. Pretty sure characters on Brooklyn Nine Nine wouldn't even be this moronic. I know this is a frothy procedural, but come on.
At this point, I'm not sure I'd care if Disney took over Star Trek. Paramount doesn't seem to care about making it good. And Disney put a Marvel series on television. Sure, it's dull. But still…
