Yeah, except, with three movies a year that most people who are interested in are going to see anyway it’s hardly a huge imposition. Plus, for the most part, the movies are self-contained, despite their interconnections.
I don’t know why anyone complains or gets annoyed that these teasers are usually inconsequential, or argues that they really need to change how they do them. They are meant to just be little bits of throwaway fun.

I’d say Empire, myself. I’d put The Last Jedi third, RotJ and Force Awakens can battle it out for fourth (RotJ wins if it’s the version with the yub-yub song, though).
I think it’s an opportunity for lightweights to take themselves seriously.
