Yeah the show sets the premise the 1st half of season 1 then starts developing characters.

True. More to the point these stories in the work were not just minor asides, they were as much if not more important to Tolkien to the Middle Earth things he did publish in his lifetime.

Tolkien tried and failed to get the Silmarillon published in his lifetime for decades. He never finished it b/c he never assumed it needed to be in a final published form. It was probably the project he was more passionate about than the Hobbit or LOTR. He wrote it again and again and again.

Why do you want the beginning and ending to her story to be exactly where it ends? She goes thru something to become the ruler who is wise enough to diminish into the West; she doesn’t start there.

So one comes out of impetuous rebel phase how exactly? Straight to quiet contemplation? There’s a reason Galadriel is tempted by the ring.

That intro animation was pretty bad. Just things cascading and swirling for no reason other than to invoke the old show. Leaving out the only bit of the old show’s intro that might be useful an in universe geography refresher.
