I coach high school football in Jersey. The NJSIAA is very toothless with stuff like this. Jack Crawford, now a Cowboys DE I think, I played against in High School was from London, England for a basketball scholarship for high school.

It says something that the NBA and NCAA, which are dominated by black players, didn’t say a word when North Carolina was trying to restrict voting rights for black people. HB2 is abhorrent and North Carolina deserves all the shit they’re getting now and more, but why didn’t these organizations threaten to pull games…
I can think of another city with a worse accent, and now their team won the Super Bowl again, those voice will be louder.
Meanwhile, Houston got a Super Bowl last night despite a citizen referendum overturning LGBT protections, in part because scary trans people in bathrooms. And the Lt. Governor is proposing HB2-style restrictions on a statewide basis.
I thought they’d just overturn the bathroom part of it and keep all the other anti worker crap and fool everyone into thinking they’d won a huge victory while still getting what they really wanted.
Yeah, but the places that lose out are Charlotte, Raleigh and Greensboro, progressive cities that are generally LGBT-friendly and vote more Democratic than the rest of the state.
That’s fucking amazing. I honestly never would have guessed the SC government would have that much self-awareness.
God Buffalo accents are the worst. “Oh my gaaaahd!”
Meanwhile one jackass proposed a similar bill in South Carolina shortly after HB2 went live and every other state senator told him to go fuck himself. Then Governor Nikki Haley even said that South Carolinians were above such things.
Suck it, North Carolina. Reap that whirlwind.
I genuinely didn’t believe that NC Republicans would still be willing to shoot themselves in the foot THIS much over THIS issue. After the NCAA pulled everything out of NC, that should have given even the most hardline conservative legislator enough cover to relent.
I don’t know how easily people are fooled by the Republicans’ half-assed “we proposed a repeal bill, so that means we totally did our part and it’s everybody else’s fault for pointing out that our repeal bill doesn’t really repeal jackshit”...
“Them saying I left, that’s fake news. It’s fake news. It’s a shame, because the media is such a disaster they’ll think of anything at this point...I never left my watching party at the Trump International Golf Club. Why would Trump do that? I stayed...I stayed to the end, everyone will tell you I was there, that was…
For Immediate Release:
I envision a new reality series called “Life Choices with Aaron Hernandez”
I’d question the tight ends first......
“when you allow the biggest comeback in NFL playoff history”
Damnit, I bet everything that his celebratory postgame tweet would compare the Pats comeback to his own electoral win. I guess I can still hold out hope for an erratic 3am tweetstorm.
Only partially related to this post. Diana, I pretty much only read dick jokes and un-original Deadspin comments at this point, but thanks for being a real journalist in the time we need it more than ever. You’re one of the best out there.
Ironically, the charity is a fund to provide anger management counseling for Kirk Cousins.
albert belle’s peak was much shorter than TO’s, and he was a defensive liability. really i don’t see a comparison at all.
