Great idea! I don't have a TV Tuner, but I managed to get this setup with the Hulu Desktop program. It works well :) Much better than moving my wireless keyboard to my bed.

No problem. I'm a web developer myself, and although I understand why users have ad blockers (I used to use one myself), it is bad for the small websites, especially since I avoid the annoying but very profitable rollout/popup ads.

I just have Flash on click to play (see FlashBlock for Firefox). Eliminates all the annoying ads (they show up as a box, and you can click them to load it), and considerate text/image only ads are always allowed.
