How am I a deadbeat? I gave a cheque that was fully valid for two weeks, and informed them of that very fact. If they didn’t cash it, it’s their fault.

You had two weeks to cash it. I told you that upfront. Why didn’t you cash it when I told you to? Lazy? Stupid?

No - I tell the person I’m giving the cheque to that they have 2 weeks to cash it.

I actually started “pre-dating” my cheques to keep a handle on my balance - I write my cheques so that they appears 5 months, 2 weeks old. Cheques go stale after 6 months. If they don’t cash it, they’re out of luck. Not my fault.

Okay - early detection is important, but 3 days isn’t going to make a difference.

I actually would assume he made it - he only had another 10 feet or so to go to get to stable ground and book it. Rabbits are pretty damn fast and agile. It’s more likely he made it than he didn’t.
