Mint in plain water wouldn’t be great, but mint in seltzer water can be very nice! Or a white soda, if some sweetness is desired by those that’ll be sipping on it. 

I wonder about pomegranite juice? Or a mix of something—like red Welch’s grape juice thinned with something white (as it is, it screams “grape juice”).

So what juice do you find that best subs for wine? I am constantly noticing this on TV--as in, yeah, that’s not wine, and it’s a really noticeable detail.
