I would also add Tylenol and Ibuprofen to the list. They are necessities for many reasons, particularly when you have children. Tylenol is the single most needed thing in underprivileged African communities (my SIL is a member of a group supporting a community in South Sudan). It literally saves lives getting people

I like the way you think.

I have a feeling it’s going to do better than many of us. LAX is completely full, and meanwhile ER doctors have things like this to say from the field

My city is closing down again, and my workplace is closing down to the public, but we don’t know if that means we’ll still be going in and doing behind the scenes stuff, of which there are mountains, or whether we will be working from home.

Hopefully not, but something is always changing. Our division manager left Friday for a new jobs with another company supposedly in a different “work space” so he will not be competing against us. I will believe it when I see it especially since the contract that I work on is up this year. Last time the contract was

I like your question to the Jezebel universe. Yeah, for sure, I am going to have a very weird work week. I work in finance and their were layoffs a few weeks ago. 7.5% of the workforce was laid off with a very good severance package, but everyone else working maximally and feeling a complete loss of commitment to what

Been pretty nuts lately with the football games, but nothing like last week with Halloween and then Election Night--NUTS.

That does sound interesting!

Hola kitty cats! I’m digging my new life in the mountains of Panama. My decision to retire was a good one for many reasons, just one of which is that a racist, conspiracy theory spreading mask-denier in my old office/cube farm might have infected everyone in the office with Covid; he came to work defiantly maskless

Health question / peri thread

Election day was the 4-year anniversary of my father undergoing emergency brain surgery. I voted for Hillary, got in my car and drove into the heart of Trump country. Today is the anniversary of his funeral. My best friend has been completely awol during all of this, even though she's well-aware this was going to be a

Scheduled c section happening in T-39 days! Currently trying not to feel an epic/ irresponsible piece of shit for having a baby in the middle of a global crisis.

Friday I dropped the tiny human off at my parents house for a sleepover. It may be her last one tho there. My dad is getting the 110+ year old farmhouse ready to sell. Which means he needs to clean out the barn. A barn stuffed with many of my mom’s things who died many years ago. When she was alive tho, she collected

I’m disabled too, and this is why I LOVE Call the Midwife. There’s so much disability representation there and it isn’t always these giant tragic stories.

I’m not autistic, but I am disabled and I do find it frustrating that Hollywood routinely doesn’t cast disabled actors in disabled parts. As a whole our stories are underrepresented in tv/ movies and then when they are told, they are told by people who have no experience being disabled, neurodivergent, or chronically

As a pair of autistics with theatre backgrounds, I think you’ve misunderstood Sia - we didn’t take it to mean that autistic actors can’t work, it’s that autistic actors can’t safely be involved in realistic portrayals of trauma they have PTSD about. We both have experienced this in roles and agree with her strongly.

Hi Duck!

He (or his brother? Literally cannot tell them apart) sat behind me at a hockey game last year. It was one of the worst aggressive and obnoxious sport-related experiences I’ve ever had.

I was very surprised at his comments after reading the headline.  Not the direction I saw that going at all.
