Same here! If the weather is warm, I wear open-toed shoes. If there’s someplace that doesn’t allow them, then they can ask me to leave LOL.

There are legit reasons to occasionally want to appear to be drinking, but not actually drink. Get to the bartender away from your friends, tell him/her that you would like a mocktail, and to do that every time you need a refill. Tip like you are tipping on alcohol. Unless the bartender is new, this will be a familiar

I am imagining him saying, “You really think divorce will be a solution to your marriage problems? Nah, you gotta murder them, idiot... oh...you didn’t tell me you were a cop!”

I intellectually know that I can stay cooler without sheets and also without wearing nightclothes, but I cannot get to sleep without at least a nightgown and a sheet. I wouldn’t even bother lying down in a room more than 75 degrees F. Might as well save the frustration and just get work done.

Ditto.

Last saw my dad in 2000. Everyone said I would regret it when he died. That happened in 2012. No regrets.

Oh - I forgot to mention I couldn’t get any need-based financial aid for college because my mom said it was “too much trouble” to fill out the FAFSA.

I have a combo. There’s some stuff for work that I have to be at a computer to do. I do that at my desk. I can’t really think or create staring at a computer or sitting, though, so (I work at home) I have a thick cover over the back of my grand piano, and I do anything involving writing in notebooks or reading hard

My parents both squandered money. When I was in my 20s my mom’s dad died, and he had a fabulous house that she sold to someone whe “felt sorry for” for 5 figures. I got accepted into Aspen that year and as a musician in my 20s, I couldn’t afford the cash, and my mom said there was no money with which to help me. They

It is...but does explain why they pay $15/hour + .

Yep, in my area of Brooklyn parents generally aren’t interested in having high school students. They really want adults, preferably people with an education degree. I am serious.

I also have the 2013 Moto X, like it. I will upgrade if a phone the same size or smaller comes out with an iPhone 5 or better quality camera or better battery life. Whether that phone is an Apple 7 or another Android is of no consequence to me. I’ve used both and like both for different reasons.

Yep, I don’t have kids and came here for ideas.

I am sometimes held up as a posted child for hard work because I went to a terrible low-income school, made it to college on a full scholarship, and do “well.” You know what? I also got straight As and scored in the 99th percentile of my PSAT and SAT, without studying or re-taking anything. I didn’t work harder than

I don’t understand people who just let their dogs bark. I mean, people have to leave the house, and you can’t remote control your dogs, but we have crate-trained our dog and make sure to give him adequate exercise and attention, and we have specifically asked our neighbors to please tell us if they ever hear him

I also was going to wish that a woman you loved could be the lucky one to experience the next rape, since you think they’re either apparently imaginary or trivial things that are whiny to complain about it. But, I actually would rather be raped once than to be stuck all my life with a brother, father, son, or husband

At first I thought you were referring to me by “all these whiny little bitches,” but then I saw that the things you said that they said were actually all things that I never said, so you either weren’t referring to me or you have the reading comprehension skills of a slow 7 year old.

NYC? Do you live here right now? Are you talking about East New York and Brownsville? I want to see the real estate ad for a 2-bedroom house in NYC for $550/month, and I will personally rent that house for you if you promise that you will make your daughter live in that house by herself for two years with no alarm

And then suppose you get sick...most minimum wage jobs don’t give you sick pay so you better have an emergency fund. Then you’re either paying for health insurance or you’re out of pocket for that dr visit, antibiotics, etc. Since you’re supposed to be moving up, there needs to be some money available for tuition. If

You know not everyone can ride a bike, some neighborhoods of which you speak would not be safe for a female to walk home alone in after dark, and that there are very rarely cheap studios available near anyone’s place of work?
