the Level Up Labs guy is awesome so I’m glad he was on the right side of this.

Because you can do all this already without NFTs. You’re adding complexity for zero added value, something that in any other industry would result in you getting your walking papers.

Oh man, I actually covered the recent GDC talk, “Blockchain, NFTS, Play-To-Earn…Is It Real or a Farce?” and it was basically 4 supporters vs 1 critic, and the critic was soundly beating the others. I don’t know if they were just sellouts or pollyanas (one was an investor who clearly came to class without doing the

As an avid player, I’m pretty disgusted. It’s just a auto-battler and Devs seem pressed to keep their course despite the loss of a their playerbase.

SBB was a popular game in one of the communities I frequent, and the moment word of this buyout came down, the opinion was pretty much unanimously “Well, it was fun while it lasted.” People immediately dropped it like it was on fire and made of spiders. 😬

The worst thing I ever did was when my kids were 3 and 4. If they didn’t want to do something I wanted them to do, like go to bed, I’d say, well, why don’t we just flip a coin. Heads I win, tails you lose. That worked well for a few months, but when they finally caught on, they were really pissed.

I also don’t understand what the benefits are if any.”

But can I buy the clip of him saying “but they don’t get it for now” as an NFT?

But the Earth IS flat, so why do we need to search for the truth? /s

Dan’s really come a long way with his channel. I remember when he was just doing movie and anime reviews. now he’s doing full blown documentaries about a wide range of topics.

Started watching this yesterday thinking “Two hours? I only afford *Tim Rogers* that kind of time on Youtube, thank you” but was quickly won over and blown away by how well-done it was. The dude’s take on the topic is so tremendously comprehensive; he breaks down a lot of the tech behind blockchain that I didn’t know

I willing until I got to YouTube and discovered this is a 2+ hour video.

Except, that’s exactly what these gaming execs are pretending to pitch and it’s been around for years, also doesn’t require any blockchain/crypto/hype nonsense.

This stood out to me as well. Why would you need NFTs just to have a RMT market for in-game items? Do they just expect people to be dumb enough to fall for it (granted, this thought is not without merit) or is this “VP of innovations” not understanding the concept himself?

This video is GOLD. Awesomely explained. And nobody is dumb for not understanding how the architecture of this works, because IT’S extremely complex and abstract.

I love that you have a Minecraft themed bathroom. People should have fun with their houses, rather than ignoring their desires for bland “tastefulness”.

Or as we say in my house: pressing Q on a dirt block.

Thought this was cool and showed this to my son and he says, “I want to poop in there.”

I decorate for me, not Instagram or anyone that visits.  This is even more true after the last 2 years of increasing isolation.

These seem like personal preferences. Besides the dirty and cluttered part, which isn’t cheap and tacky but just dirty and cluttered, none of these are what I’d consider cheap or tacky.
