It is left behind. It’s been dead for years. It’s too bad because it could have been great.

That’s not someone’s job, it’s an extra task they’re expected to do in addition to their regular duties for no extra pay.

Yes, it’s someone’s job to pickup carts left by assholes. That doesn’t mean it is their only job, just the job they have to do when assholes visit the store. Same goes for people who deposit their garbage in overflowing street bins instead of taking it home like a normal person. Or toss their butts on the sidewalk. Or

I think that person’s job is actually to go out to the cart corral and bring all of the carts back into the store. It is not strictly to first wander all over the parking lot collecting abandoned carts and then bring them in.

There were some questionable design decisions at Fukushima (though I’m not sure I’d call it gross negligence or anything). Bad input or decisionmaking from a risk standpoint is probably one of the larger factors.

It’s kinda like the plane crash vs auto crash fallacy, you’re far more likely to die driving to the airport, but everyone’s afraid of the plane crashing because the 200 people on the plane dying make the news, not the thousands killed annually on the road a few at a time.

If we’re talking about how awful lithium mining is electric vehicles are a much better point for scorn than nuclear fusion, which is still a pipe dream at this point. whatever our future power structure is it will likely involve nuclear energy we just need to do a better job of using it in a way that doesn’t harm

Interestingly, your comment that it’s 4-5 hours long made me go from “not worth my time” to “mh, maybe I should check it out”.

As a hack creator let me tell you that this publicity is more than welcome. Even if it gets pulled from its official host it gets shared in different places and spread around to the point where you literally can’t delete it from the internet. People worry too much about this. This is the recognition we want. We want

Last week saw the public release of Banjo Kazooie: The Jiggies of Time (if you love Banjo Kazooie you really do need to play this its definitely clear its a labour of love by someone who truly loves the games) rom hack and now this, really shows the interest in these kinds of older games and how popular they are. I

Can we just bring back kid-friendly game shows like Double Dare, Hidden Temple, and Carmen Sandiego? I watched Carmen Sandiego religiously and those shows always made me feel like I wasn’t a total nerd for studying.

I’m also glad The Quest might come back. I loved that show, even with how goofy ridiculous it was. The contestants were good actors, I think—whenever the Vizier walked around, I’m sure they knew who he really was, this is Disney. But nope, no clue, then surprise.

That is literally one of the worst ideas I’ve ever heard.

There’s absolutely no need to do that. You can already set Zoom invitations for authenticated mail domains only, or by social platform. If people actually wanted some security and backtracing on Zoom all they had to do was RTFM, but instead Zoom had to impose it (e.g. waiting rooms and compulsory passwords) because of

90 percent of that plan is 100 percent illegal.

So a famously insecure product shouldn't intentionally ship with malicious code inside? THIS IS AMERICA!

We’re trying to get coral to grow, not create an underwater Superfund site

He’s scared shitless of everybody actually, imagine being such a pussy ass bitch president you have to fire someone via twitter because you lack the balls to tell them to their face. The only thing more depressing than that are the morons that somehow believe a man born on a golden toilet is somehow strong and tough

Absolutely! The boomers are a generation of narcissists, incapable of perceiving needs beyond their own. (Not all, but certainly a lot, especially when looking at those with wealth and power.) As with all narcissists, they live by a common creed.

She didn’t and can’t school any one of them, because they don’t care and aren’t listening. They’ve each got their own fortunes and vested interests, and they won’t let anyone or anything get in the way of raping the planet and destroying a future they won’t live to see. Because money > everything. They got to where
