That top end could just be a peregrine falcon (or something slower), and zero should be a barnacle. I also probably don't need most of my markings in the range of less than the speed limit for a city street, but I like the idea.

Personally I could go for light-nanoseconds per second (basically feet per second). It's the only unit that really makes sense, right? Besides, it would be easy to calculate your fraction of c at any time, just your speed x 10^-9.
No worse than the other dipsticks who block bike lanes on the regular, or the places where bike lanes are unusable for anything that was intended for a road, or the pedestrians who aimlessly wander across bike lanes without looking in the middle of the block. These at least seem likely to try and hold speed and…
It rather looks a bit that way.
Oh, I bet they are impossible to mount cameras in too! /s
I would never take an ocean cruise, but I could be talked into a river boat. I occasionally think it would be fun to take a big wheel on the Mississippi, and my parents rather liked their cruise up the Danube.
I support your "let them live like kings" idea, but maybe we don't have to do it on a plague boat?
The word you are looking for is “commandeer”, or more realistically take in exchange for outstanding debt to the government. The government just needs to level a few good fines right now and we could have a few more floating hospitals in just a few months.
And yet we are bailing out Delta and American Airlines...
Erm, your saying there is something better to do with that stuff than bury it under a half inch of fast growing coral in a former nuclear test site?
I think the realistic best case we can hop for is that some of the bottom barrel ships finally make a final and long overdue trip to the scrap bin, and that the crown jewel ships have to work a little harder to fill up (aka at least make reference to being more socially/environmentally minded) to make up for the…
Oh, hah. No. Plenty of boring people to go around. Plenty of bus tours will exist when this is said and done. Plenty of people will still drive across the middle of the country for actual fun, and not even stop at national parks along the way. There are lots of ways for people to be boring, and lots of boring people…
Why else would you go on a cruise though?
Happy enough not to bail any of them out either, but at least all those companies pay lots of Americans who pay taxes. Cruises exist at sea, basically there is no law.
Yup. And all shipping is a mess. The US should revisit its laws, but not in order to bail out cruises.
Yeah, right before his policies led to the economy taking a dump, poor people (and therefore minorities) first. Trump doesn’t have much control of the economy, but it’s glaringly obvious that he could have taken the measures he is now considering to get us more tests and equipment in January when it would have maybe…
My bets on Warren as a running mate. Progressive enough to get people who wouldn’t vote otherwise to get to the polls and not specifically ideological enough to turn off the religious and/or centerist left. Also he said he would commit to run with a woman.
Realistically, offices use way more and those homes weren't exactly shut down before. The difference in how hard the AC has to run (and in a big office it runs hard even in the winter) will more than make up for the electrical bills from gaming. Actually, I threw on folding@home since a little help heating my house…
I don’t care in this case, but no. You think we got BOTW because someone just did what they wanted? No, a bunch of very talented very hard-working people came together to make something they probably didn’t enjoy every minute of making, but that turned out amazing because people both used their talents but also…
Maybe we should just go for a more fair system where all loan interest is tax deductible by the same logic as mortgage interest? As long as banks get charged for the money they make off interest it seems fair.
