Really? I don’t have it in for Tesla, but Musk is kind of a jerk. I’m sorry. He’s got good ideas, and I like that he implements good stuff without being deterred, but I don’t like that he bashes on other people to auit his whim, be they ICE companies getting into EV’s or cave divers, I don’t like that he was flip about

Musk 2015: Dealerships are bad. Tesla is better because we have shpwrooms but don’t have dealerships.

Actually, if I could get the free and clear to put in a crosswalk next to the park near my house, I would be out there next week working nights to get it done. I'm not saying it's a good idea, there are reasons for regulations, but I would happily volunteer for my local government.

Exactly wrong. In the electric world, charging happens while you sleep or work mostly, you would never have to charge for a 30 minute errand except if you were stupid and failed to plug in after your 200 mile trip or just had to run your errands immediately after driving your max range. What adds up is all the time

Sort of. Still have to build the H2 infrastructure, which has its own problems (Real Engineering on YouTube covers this nicely). I am still pro hybrid H2, just I think presenting it as 'problem solved' isn't really honest.

This. Also, having to stop at an ugly gas station the rest of the year more than compensates for the 15 minutes you save on those road trips.

I mean, swappable cell phone batteries have basically died, and that’s a lot easier than BEV batteries, so no, I don't think battery swapping is ever likely.

Plutonium

Hours? Doubt it. Max charge rate is determined by the speed you can charge all your cells in parallel, so really just by the max speed to charge a single cell, plus any time you need to wait to deal with cooling. Basically, if your cooling system and charging cable(s) can take it, charging 100 cells should take the

Just a reality check, there’s some physics that means your optimism about fast charging is just that, and I would not personally predict that fast charging will get much better, especially in cell phones. There is still some room for BEV’s to catch up and there is more space for innovative colling systems, capacitor

I think actually the most likely thing is hydrogen fuel cell hybrids. About 100miles battery that can be charged when and wherever (more or less) but take some time, 300+ on H2 available quickly along long range infrastructure but not much inside cities and towns. I know H2 isn't a given, but the tech is more mature

There actually is a good amount of parking around Seattle Center, and I can see why city council thinks it's an area that could use fans more than the arena district. Also, that stadium is becoming a menace to them: someone willing to deal with it is worth taking a slightly worse deal otherwise.

I couldn't care less about the NHL, but this is an empirically good name.

Really? I think that the fact that Alice isn’t a good girl Grainger but also not just a fledgling cliche supervillain is one of the most interesting things about her. The whole reason I love the books is because it realizes mediocrity and neuroticism can be ongoing attributes and not some ‘solve it in one book’ or

Don't let this guy near uncolored glass!

I don’t think it’s true. Seems like logical strategies have been tried and things are just as bad

For a while I would answer as ‘Inspector -, why are you calling me on an illegal number?’ to which many people hung up, but at least one just was like ‘yep, I’m a scammer. I don’t feel bad about it at all’. It seemed to make a small difference in my call volume though. Given that it only took a few more seconds than
