After reading the spoiler, it did the opposite for me. And I think it will for a lot of the people who were “ok i can deal with it being a completely different genre and sharing no mechanics, I just want to see this story unfold in a pretty world with a good translation”.

I’m with you 100%. Unrecognizable gameplay, significant story changes, and an episodic system that can’t actually work in any logical fulfilling way.

Honestly, you’re going to love this game. They’ve stripped out 100% of the gameplay of the original, its not even in the same genre anymore. This game was made for people who felt the way you felt about the original.

I don’t think thats really what the data suggests(not to detract from WOC film directors at all). I think its more a quantity issue.

I really want to jump behind this cause but it seems like 99% of the people shouting about it don’t have any idea what they’re even asking for.

I’ve never really played the fire emblem games but I’ve always been interested in them because I love the kind of battle system/class system they represent. I’ve been waiting for a proper switch/console version for a while to really sink my teeth into, but when I saw the trailer for this i felt a bit leery.

I guess I still can’t reconcile “im a huge fan of the game i just hate all the mechanics and think they’re awful”, because it sounds like you didn’t much like the game initially.

So you’re a fan of a game but you don’t enjoy any of the gameplay mechanics or the genre that the game is a part of? Thats the part I don’t get.

I wish I was interested in “what if we took your favorite game of all time but removed every single mechanic and replaced them with the mechanics from the games we made that no one liked”, but I just can’t.

Same. I never really felt like I was making concrete progression like I did in previous games, and I got really sick of doing a fight in which i break 3 weapons only to pick up 3 new weapons and realize my net gain was...nothing..
