3 of those 4 require people explicitly NOT being safe with guns at all. Its not an “i was safe until”, it implies practices that are not safe from the get go. As for alcohol, you’re looking at a fraction of a single percentage point of situations in which a drunk argument ends with gun violence vs not ending in gun…

If it helps at all i’m 100% in favor of lifting that law and opening it up to any studies they want to do.

I already explained that, there was another person with a very similar argument that wanted to ban guns, and i got my wires crossed.

But thats not the argument, because those are not binary options of “shoot family member” OR “shoot intruder” and you must choose one.

I get that, and I would love if we would increase regulations to make sure people ARE responsible, and that unstable people are not out buying guns. I’m 100% for being much more restrictive of who has them and for mandating significant amounts of training to those that do have them.

I do apologize for implying that you said you want to ban guns, there is another person posting on this article who is using a very similar argument and I got my wires crossed. That was my bad.

If you don’t see the flaws in your own argument of “anyone could be dangerous with this one thing, therefore we should ban this one thing”, and then call me a dumbass for asking if we can extrapolate that at all, then I don’t think you’re prepared to have any sort of civil/informed conversation about this.

Out of curiosity, what % of gun owners do you think end up doing stuff like this? Because if your logic is “everyone is safe with ______ until they’re not”, then we can apply that to a lot of different things.

We’re in the same boat with our family dog. She is only 13 at the moment but has been having some breathing troubles. Still happy as a clam and doesn’t seem to be in pain, but just has a wicked sneeze throughout the day. Mom has talked to the vets and they say there is a pretty easy surgery they can do on their 2 back…

As dog lover, i feel like...this dog just is probably not enjoying life at this point? Oozing sore, tumor in the mouth, blind, incontinent, 17 years old, and for 3 years in a row its owner drags the poor thing to be put on display as the worlds ugliest dog?
