I’ve been a huge booster of this show. I’ve maintained that the first season was the strongest start for any Trek since TOS and I’m still convinced I’m right. I’ve said that everything about the aesthetics and cast is perfect and wonderful and makes this look and feel like the best Trek has ever been and I still…

My takeaway after this episode is that they killed off Airiam just so they could bring Sara “Lt. Nilsson” Mitich onto the bridge without the extensive makeup and prosthetics.

It’s so frustrating to watch show that has all its shit together except the writing. Last week showed how good the show could be if it tried harder. I knew it wouldn’t last. This week we’re back to our regularly scheduled blaaaaahhhh.

To be fair, Steve started out as a creep, too. But he’s had a pretty great arc and is now, as you put it, “the best character on the show by a country mile.” I think Steve is actually too good for Nancy at this point.

Steve’s transformation from bastard boyfriend to monster-slaying friend to all children is the most rewarding character arc in any TV show ever.

Think of it this way, if she didn’t run away, we wouldn’t have been introduced to Kali and other characters no one likes.

That season 2 trailer was killer thriller.

If Steve dies, I will burn it all to the ground. All of it.

Glad to see Max and 11 hanging out together. 11 getting jealous of her and running away was the worst part of season 2. It really highlighted they needed a hackneyed way for 11 not to be in the plot.

Unfortunately Canadian pop sensation Robin Sparkles didn’t record her hit single “Let’s GO to the Mall” until the 90s, when the 80s finally made their way to the Great White North. ;)
