Well, we didn’t necessarily know that for sure at the time.

I finally caught up with the show again last year after various things had me push back S3-4 and El Camino. Feels good to be back in the concurrent viewing. And next episode is right around the corner.
Yeah, you’re right I had forgotten about that (I just kind of went to that cause that’s what the doctor lady was bringing up). Either way it looked like some notable tech was taken out in a manner that was causing irreversible damage.
It looked like his cortical node got pulled out of him so I doubt there was a chance he was gonna survive long after that.
The Agent name game taking inspiration from MST3K Space Mutiny was pretty good if that counts.
Hill being in command would have probably been a better outcome than Mack leading it honestly. The way it was done in S5 just felt like a real swerve for no reason. I don’t even really need Daisy to be in charge but that whole arc just left a sour taste in my mouth (more for the Fitz stuff that preceded it tbf).
“It’s over SkekSil, I have the high ground!”
Fair enough but at least with that there was a good chunk of a season dedicated to him working on getting better (and people have pointed out residual signs of it at least). With the S5 Fitz thing it’s pretty much Fitz did a bad thing, he dies, guess we’ll go look for the other version of him now. There was no closure…
Fair enough. But I tend to take value in a good ending.
It wasn’t even 5 minutes. And really my issue is more that the whole thing lacked catharsis. Having Coulson Rider take her out just didn’t have much satisfaction behind it compared to some other villain defeats.
Her final defeat was pretty disappointing tho.
Yeah the Hive confrontation was the last real satisfying one. It took a LOT to finally stop him.
Cool. Just check replies before responding next time (apparently Kinja just stops people from doing that).
Thanks (although I feel like there’s gonna be a lot more of these kind of replies to come).
I guess but even that could have led to some interesting stuff. Like maybe Sarge or whatever would have to deal with having lived a life of killing many people and then try to find redemption with the Coulson memories.
At least that had satisfying pay-off.
Oh okay.
It was. But hindsight has shown it was better than we gave it credit for at the time (especially when you know where it all leads to). And even putting that aside it’s better than S5-6.
If Snowflake is dead it’s gonna make keeping her alive feel kind of pointless.
