Hell, these things have a good chance of catching on just from the business case. A tanker this size consumes over 2,500 gallons of maritime diesel fuel per hour just to maintain ~20kts...ballparking, that’s about $100K saved over the course of a weeklong voyage, and even a $5 million installation cost has a breakeven…

This is pretty sweet. I remember reading about the sails but never had seen anyone using them. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of better... its a start

You have my vote in the lede. I’m totally not cheating. The E39 5series had my favourite implementation of their headlights with the halos, and each iteration since just hasn’t been as good.

Come on now... what could be cooler than the louvered headlights on the Alfa Romeo Montreal?
