She never should have had children, but there are glimpses of a really kind, compassionate Betty throughout the seasons. This episode really had her being very compassionate and understanding to a teenaged Sandy. And her advice was pretty spot on.

I thought Peggy was awful this show. She was cutting to everyone who worked for her, which is exactly the reason why she left her previous job. I mean, I know she wants to be Don, and all of us think she's this huge feminist icon, but that's no reason to treat your underlings like crap.
I think I must be watching a different show. I was really proud of Betty this show, creepy rape discussion aside. (Like, way to be mean-spirited because your husband found a younger woman attractive, though I guess I can see where she might be a bit insecure in that regard).
That was my biggest problem here. Why would all the other pretty girls taunt her, she's prettier than they are. She doesn't look awkward enough here. There's something very actory about her hunched over look.
Exactly.
THE ORIGINAL.
The video on the Uner Tan syndrome? So unbelievably sad, and the implication that it's not just their cerebellum and Chrom17 defects that are causing their developmental delays, but also the cultural aspect is the main source of their troubles is just so, so haunting.
I hate this argument. Autism = brilliant music composers and geniuses.
Exactly. My son doesn't have the ability to say full sentences, let alone type out his concerns onto a forum and advocate for himself, so I would like a "cure", or at least a treatment, for autism.
I don't think divorce really has anything to do with that. You can have people who have lived with each other for ten years and then get married, and get divorced a few years later. I also think that the later you get married, the more entrenched you are in your habits and the way you want to do things, and the less…
You seriously don't understand individualized health insurance. She's probably lucky to find an insurance company that will agree to cover her, let alone keep her premiums as low as you say.
For profit healthcare isn't really abhorrent. It's necessary. However, the level of the profit is what's abhorrent, and the fact that "non-profit" hospitals make more money per year than the "for profit" hospitals shows just how broken the system is.
Birth control coverage actually is cheaper for insurance companies than the alternative. As for pre-existing conditions, yeah, basically it means that premiums will shoot up. However, I spend a lot of my time having to fight a pre-existing condition denial because the diagnosis code is "joint pain". A lot of it is…
Exactly. And wait until those premiums soar. Or actually, you don't have to wait. They're already soaring in anticipation.
It's like I say, if you want to make a woman a villain, have her be mean to children. If you want to make a man a villain, he has to be a mafia killer who rapes women, except if you're a Soprano. So. . . .I think pedophilia is the last resort here.
Also, when I rewatched the first season I was surprised to see how caring Betty was with Sally. And some of the things she tried to smooth Sally's way with the new baby were actually pretty touching and intuitive. Dry cleaning bags aside, she was good about explaining about periods with Sally, she obviously helped…
This happens frequently on airline websites. ElAl had some mistake where they listed a trip from NY to Israel as something like $10, and a whole bunch of people bought it, and ElAl honored it when they uncovered the mistake (which happens quickly because you tend to notice a huge increase of purchases like that).
Just reading all these comments and my hat's off to you. We're looking into adoption, and we were offered foster placement of a girl who was 16 who was repeatedly raped by her father, and I was so clueless as to how to even help her that I passed on the opportunity. I still think about that, and I have to admit that…
I'm always blown away by how pretty she is. Why doesn't she get more roles? Especially with that voice?
That's true. Animal work, but I also used it when I was working in the biohazard room.
