I find it interesting that this piece explores the idea that our children can think differently about God the way we do, and about religion, and it's okay. I'm intrigued by the concept.

I tried it. Overrated. It did nothing for my skin.
Yep. I hate mothers like this.
Even without a contract, though, the fact that this person HAS gotten paid puts credence to the expectation that he should continue getting paid from a legal standpoint.
I know this is buried deep in the comments, but I laughed at this one.
I'm American. And I went to elementary and high schools with NO sex ed.
No, you're thinking of Freud.
Exactly. I'm like, this is news how? Didn't we all discover this when we learned about Turner Syndrome and defective Y chromosomes?
If you quit, you're still owed that money.
For some reason, I'm mesmerized by Richard Gere on screen. I have no idea why, because usually his acting and his face aren't that compelling. But I will always want to watch movies that he's in, which are fewer and far between these days.
I think it's because some people are absolutely desperate for attention, and to prove to everyone that they're so sexy sexy sexy all the time, no matter what. I blame these Cosmo quizzes and "HOW MANY TIMES A WEEK DO YOU DO IT? WAIT, THAT LITTLE?! YOU'RE HAVING A HORRIBLE RELATIONSHIP."

I did watch this whole documentary about the back-breaking work of strawberry pickers, and how without illegal immigrants, we wouldn't have strawberries. It's fascinating, and very true about the nature of the US economy and how we have a codependent relationship with illegal immigrants.
Exactly. What next?

GENIUS.
I know it's not unique. It's just the only one where we're actually outraged about it, because there's no doubt that the victim was unimpeachable. (for lack of a better term) Underage, not lying, photographic evidence, tons of eye-witnesses, brazen tweets and social media confessions. And yet? NO RAPE CHARGES. …
It's not that hard. Two of my sisters in law are Canadian. You need a decent lawyer, and it sounds like your cousin doesn't have one.
Being in the country illegally usually means that they have no insurance. And they don't pay taxes. There are a subset that do, and I'd be interested to see if that was the case (and if so, WTF?) And while I hate oncologists in this country - because many of them don't even TAKE insurance - I have to say that it…
When this first came out, a lot of us made noises about how evil India was and how corrupt the police are for not investigating this properly. And then there were a slew of commenters who said something like, 'The US is no different!'
