Very true. I still stand by what I said about the social media, though. There will always be trolls (just google images of Amanda Todd to see people trying to get in on some post-mortem bullying), and I think 12-15 is too young to try and laugh off these attempts at agitation.

The mom is tech savvy, and yet the daughter has a facebook account that's against facebook rules?

The best part of Tropic Thunder were those fake previews at the beginning of the movie. My friends and I looked at each other in abject horror, and then when we realized it was part of the film, we just about died laughing.

Same here! The best films are the ones where they show you two seconds of footage. Cloverdale comes to mind. The kind where you have no idea what it's about.

Abortions are really yummy, especially with some nice chianti.

I had an ultrasound at five weeks, believe it or not. (Long story) I saw a "bean", but that was probably the growing placenta rather than any fetus.

I agree. I've been married for 12 years, and while my husband's background and mine are extremely similar, almost scarily so, we still have differences that seem enormous at times. Makes me wonder how anyone else manages when the differences are magnified.

That last sentence was so beautifully put.

Joking aside, I think people don't pay enough attention to the inherent dilemma in this conversation:

Which is why Cook is still writing for Gawker. The comments on Cook's article ("I'm not sexist you guyz- I mean, girls - I mean, people!") are somewhat hilarious that they call him out for writing 2000+ words to defend himself against the mean people on Twitter.

Now he's on Gawker protesting that when he called her stupid, it was a legitimate argument. And he's not sexist! Neither is his good, good friend, Andrew Sullivan, who he invited to his kids birthday party. By definition, this means he isn't sexist!

I love fruit flavored beer! And pomegranate anything! And cocktails!

Because you're not a real man if you're not siding with the bros, against all the bitchy, jealous hos.

Don't worry, insurance companies penalize people who need maternity coverage by charging them higher rates than, say, diabetics.

Well, how about, "If the state doesn't have it because they're dead broke, then we can't give it to you just because you want it, unions." There. That seems more appropriate.

I really, really hate Emilia Clarke's wig on GOT.

Designer Alfred Fiandaca says he loves that Ann Romney wears clothes he designed years ago — like her pink debate suit, which is from 2006. "She's secure enough to wear something she likes, no matter how old it is"

The comments on this article are straight up hilarious.

would bind, sexually assault and murder three boy scouts, castrating one of them, for no reason ?

Poe, Dick, Kafka, and Vonnegut all write sci-fi and horror. Dickinson and Woolf? Poetry. I don't read Jack Kerouac.
