Right. The others were on a journey. Carrie was pretty static but accorded this central role as queen bee. I think that even though Candace Bushnell had next to nothing to do with the show, there was a built in bias in favour of Carrie as the narrator. That is understandable to me. What I could not grasp was the fact

And that someone should be Broad City.

I'm sure they wouldn't care and neither should you...

I lived in Greenpoint and Williamsburg in my 20s and would love to laugh at that 'ish. I think Broad City is as close as you're going to get.

This has always been my interpretation of her struggles with the media. I think it's taken her awhile to understand that the environment she grew up in is not the one she is currently inhabiting.

Special snowflake, privileged white girl syndrome? Though the fact that she's so frustrating is part of the reason I like the show. I know I do stuff that people praise me for and then later do something in which they'll be like "What the fuck are you thinking?" Granted I'm the first person in my working class family

The frequency with which I have to remind myself that this show is a comedy ... I understand that it isn't 'VEEP' (what is?) and lives in that 'Louie '-esque comedic tone poem space, but even as a kind of mildly amusing cinematic short it falls short.

Did anyone read about her calling Howard Stern a feminist? I don't know how anyone can take this woman seriously. She's the kind of person who thinks that sharing the most grotesque tidbits about herself makes her edgy and cool when really she's just a gross, over sharing attention seeker. No one wanted to know that

Just here to tell you your icon and name are fantastic.

AND is constantly being assured that she shouldn't because, you know, haters gonna hate. All criticism is just jealous haters jealously hating.

Not just that, she just flat out doesn't seem to care.

I'm so so sorry.

Go to Bossip or Madame Noire and search for Terrance Howard. Long-story-short: he's gotten caught beating his ex/current/ex wife and at least one girlfriend. Somehow it never quite got out there, but I remember it rumbling again when his last movie with Colin Farrel (?) in early 2014 came out.

I want to know but also I don't

I would be much more impressed if the news was she started taking classes on racism, white privilege, whitewashing, etc. There are lots of problematic celebrities that I love anyways, but the issue for me with Dunham is that she never seems to learn.

Not trying to be a party pooper but I wouldn't like to have been forced to have watched someone having sex, right in front of me. God, I can be so frickin uptight sometimes.

This show has it right now and Cookie is stealing every scene Lange style.

Yes. That's why Zac Efron was in his undies for most of The Paperboy.

Didn't know Lee Daniels was teh gay.
