My dad is a surgeon and my mom is a doctor—-their advice to my sister (who is in her second year of residency) was pretty much that. Listen to your nurses because they probably (definitely) know more than you.

Love this! I’m a nurse that worked in academic medicine for a long time, and the best residents were the ones that listened to the nurses. Not because we were always right, but because their main priority was always getting the best patient outcome, not their own need to be right.
