Rush was so good, its sad that people didn’t see it.
I’m more the scorched earth kind of livid: If the story as told is true and the dealership was delaying and not owning the criminal misuse and damage to his property, it would be time to spend an hour on the computer. Just one.
Dealers actually get smart with dashcams. They actually look for them and disconnect. When I confronted dealer about it, they claimed that they wanted to prevent battery drain / interference with diagnostics.
You’re honor, I was present at said event, but I was NOT knowingly present at said event. Case dismissed
This is like David Tracy with a million dollar budget.

The F1 weighed less than the Miata of that time (1st gen Miata) and had 600+ with the finest aerodynamics and materials (cold, carbon fiber, kevlar etc) available at the time. Even the Kenwood stereo was custom made to be lighter and same with the luggage bags that were included. That sort of obsession and attention…
It would be cool if you did periodic pieces on the PRR T1 Trust. https://prrt1steamlocomotivetrust.org/
You mean anything that has a n/a engine, a manual gearbox, RWD, and zero driver aids ? No...nothing will ever be faster than the F1 until all the above boxes are checked. It will never happen again, which is why I still believe It’s the fastest production vehicle. Even a Civic can be made to go fast if you add a turbo…
not because I wrecked the truck, but the CalTrans folks were not even aware that the simulator HAD a runaway sand pit.
A few years ago at the California State Fair CalTrans brought their 18-wheeler driving simulator for all to try. Even in that artificial environment you realize the massiveness and challenges of driving one. I gained a new appreciation for big rig drivers.
What about longevity and disposal? Embodied energy covers the entire life cycle, from harvesting raw materials, to eventual disposal.
What an excellent article, one of the best I’ve read on this topic in a mainstream publication.
Missed the fact that today is
The bottom line is that partial self-driving cars should not be legal. Either the car should be able to drive itself, completely, with no human intervention beyond “I want to go here,” or it should not have “autopilot” features beyond cruise control.
I bet they would have the fanciest press release “Now with spherical Pre-Dent in either the passenger or driver side of the rear bumper!”
You get a lot more flexibility (and less cost) doing low-volume production cars. That said, the work he’s doing on the Cargine camless engine would be HUGE for the masses.
