This show makes me squirt milk out of my nose. And I don't drink milk.

OARS!!!

Maquerade too.

Hey wait a minute. Isn't Syd Barrett….?

"Do you wanna hurt women?"

Fine don't watch. More for me. Or wait…

I stand corrected. Sorry Onion.

When you're doin' hard time, you have these small windows into which you have to fit as many recreations as possible.
Another way you're off base is that at no point during the entire series was there any arm-wrestling.

As technology spurs tv production onto greater heights, simple, human stories remain as compelling as ever. I've heard that Rectify is an example of transcendant storytelling and maybe one day I'll check it out.
But for my money, the finest output Farnsworth ever could have envisioned is embodied by one show and one

Hey! It's Eric Bachmann AND Jon Rauhouse you pricks!

True story: I have a crush on his kid's former pediatrician.

Everybody puttin' Bowie and Cohen on the list. What is Jeff Tweedy supposed to think about that?

Too soon Darkness!

How many hours of practice you think those aliens put in to jam w/ Truffaut?

No. He's a model of obsessive narcissism in a movie that's actually good.

Why should anybody care about a movie about two mentally ill narcissists? Particularly when it's set so inauthentically?

You could boil any movie down to some sort of essence that it gets somewhat right and call it worthwhile. In the case of Whiplash, I find that people who truly care about Jazz don't buy it. While people more concerned with sweating and refusing dates as signifiers of obsession defend the hell out of it.

I think you're confusing defining what something's about with whether it's worth a damn or not. If Herzog hadn't bothered to understand the TOC South American rubber trade, Fitzcarraldo wouldn't mean much. A movie about obsession w/in "jazz" where the filmmakers appear to be jazz dilettantes renders said movie sucky.

Yes. I will not rest until I know exactly what you think about this issue.

That is not a good point.
What good is a movie about obsessive ambition if its inauthentic to its milieu?
