After having managed to avoid it for decades, I finally read William Shirer’s The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich just this year, starting in the weeks leading up to the election and finishing about a week after the election.

These are Donald’s people, the little creep Spencer, as well as Anglin and Heimbach and Jared Taylor and Steve Bannon and the rest.
Republican priorities do not, based on the best evidence, include the nation at any point on that list. Their priorities are 1) themselves, 2) the dark money oligarchy, and 3) really, come to think of it, there is no 3, and 2 has pretty much slipped up to the number 1 slot by now.
Donald seems to be moving quickly and efficiently to guarantee that the bloodshed will be global, not merely domestic, and that we won’t have to go through all the trouble of waiting (the Chinese are already reacting to Donald’s yammerings; can the Palestinians be far behind?)

The problem with the creatures who are gathering around Donald isn’t their wealth per se, although it’s true that income inequality in this country has long since surpassed mere colossal obscenity and now approaches cosmic, gob-smacking, twilight-of-the-gods levels of obscenity.
This is another thing that would have been funny up until a few weeks ago....
