ø is for the bots, and yes, as lawyers to the stars. It's required their mouths are in perpetual O formation.

Speedy trial only refers to how quick the trial begins, not how long it lasts. In other countries, you can rot for years in jail without bail before coming up for trial. The Defense actually lengthened the trial by filing motion after motion, having hearings within hearings instead of letting all the evidence be heard

..er, Dennis Fung. But this episode spotlighted the jury, not testimony or evidence, so he might be back. It's a nonlinear written series.

Yep. Whøres, all lawyers to the stars, even the ones presumably fighting for the underdog, which OJ never was.

There's a lot more OJ/DT allegory to 2016 than meets the eye. The timing is impeccable on so many levels.

Great use of Queen for sure. I like how they showcase elements of the trial, ie, the sequestration and jury elimination in a nonlinear way for more impact.

w00t! First.
Um, yeah. Slow, but that's the tar pit feeling that juror's had too.

After Clark's snipe at him about his small 'hand-size' - sound familiar in 2016? - he started talking about himself as a Marine, then pulled out his anatomical references. The 'stud field mouse' one was hilarious, tho. If it's true, well, maybe not word for word, it's sad that's all it took to set Darden off to

Yep, definitely!

Yes partly, and I think Darden also knew he missed his opp to get with Clark, then tried to make up for it by being The Man and taking charge, since she said "I liked it" when he took the initiative and ordered the Detectives to find evidence that would "land a big moment" [paraphrasing] to displace the Defense's

My take away from this ep: it signals this trial would be the mother of all bad hair days. Marcia's sickening realization washing over her of the real possibility of losing the case - not just downgrading from slam dunk to uphill battle - and could do nothing about it.

Agreed. Jury nullification. So… why wasn't that challenged by Ito? That's my question. Of course we already know that answer.
In normal courts of law the rest of us are subject to, there's actually jury instruction stating that each piece of evidence is required to be "deliberated." Unless bluetooth for the human brain

Yes, that's Cochran's spin. But the reality was darker 'cause it uncorked everyone's issues, throwing the focus off who he really was, what the evidence was about.. and that people refused to believe their hero could commit such an atrocity or be sent to prison on their watch.

Uh huh. And then came a digital little blue pill aka the internet. Because we 'want it' 24/7. News and infotainment, that is.

At no time did OJ rally for anyone but himself, and pretty much paid or mesmerized others to do even that for him.
He was never interested in social issues, charities or anything else that took money or the spotlight away from him.
If anything, OTHERS co-opted the trial for their own agendas that were justified, but

Nope, no coincidence, and good catch, so true.
Expanding my earlier comment, this fab series is replete with pop culture nods that lend more fuel to the surreal circus that real events became with this trial. Another one was the Farrah reference. She was once on top, and in 1995 her career was at the bottom, and posed

…that casts a blinding white blaze to this day. SV is no joke. Coincidence that the Reagan Library chose its site there? Not BH, not SB where he lived and ranched? Btw, CV and former SFV resident here, for decades. The original events - not so amusing.

…even if juries are tasked to be fact-finders, we are supposed to infer that not-so-small point amidst the same media-crazed culture we live in now during an election year. Many, many parallels on the road over the cliff.

That's kinda the point: too much was made of it, like a sideways Emperor's New Clothes mixed with mocking. Sadder for Clark usually being the one to call out the naked Emperors. She just didn't have a clue or a chance.
