We are all one, but some haven’t been treated very well and if you can’t recognize that, you’re papering over it with platitudes like “We are all one!”

I’ve been seeing the quote, “the burden of the brutalised is not to comfort the bystander” in my newsfeeds a bunch this morning but the followup: “If you have a critique for the resistance, our resistance, then you better have an established record of critique of our oppression. If you have no interest in equal rights…
Nope.
No, he’d be a 99 Flake. A BIG 99 Flake.
I hope so. I have several friends who are still stomping their feet and pouting, “Bernie!”
Grow up, Pepper Ann! You want to affect change? You do that in the primaries, like I did. Or you work at a local level, where you can make more actual change, to raise the profile of your smaller parties. You don’t whine from your position of privilege about short-term sacrifices and you don’t enable the Halloween…
This makes me feel just a tadge bit better about being in MO.
Cash grab? So some people do movies for free?
I’m so glad you shared that! I’ve been looking for an expert opinion on the topic of women in comedy! How should I credit your comments? Is it Dr. Chang?
My girlkid is dragging me! Well, actually, very little dragging. We shall both be running in from the parking lot.
Drones are the problem? I can buy one at Costco. It’s how drones are used. Underhanded dealings are the actual problem and you can’t name a president who wouldn’t have disappointed us. You can start with Reagan by looking up a little thing called Iran-Contra. Start.
OMG, I saw this trending on Twitter earlier today and thought it was a slam referring to the Clintons. I gotta get out more! Or perhaps she could speak up so we could all hear her.
You’re including Reagan in that? For reals? And what we did in Iran in the 50s? Hawaii? Ah, hell, let’s go back to the Louisiana Purchase. We are a rapacious people and our leaders give us what we want.
Name a president with a clean record in this arena.

It depends on how people are taught to identify their “own kind.”
We kid ourselves when we say, oh, it’s the south. It’s everywhere. And yes, people of color may know that but well-meaning white people like to think that since they live somewhere else, they don’t have a problem. Then, when there is a problem, they dig in because It Can’t Happen Here. So I don’t know if I’d get shook…
You need to move. Kansas sucks!
I have no allegiance to Texas and only a few cousins who grew up in the south but damn, there are racists everywhere! The north has plenty enough to go around.
I think it should be longer. I need a little more detail.
