The short answer is no, if the loans were taken out before the marriage you’re not liable. The only exception would be private loans that don’t discharge on death but those are rare.

If you don’t want photos at all, then that’s cool. But I don’t personally see a difference between wanting an album “for the attic” (which, what?) or portrait on the wall when it comes to picking a photographer. If the photographer is not good, then either of them will look like crap.
