First thing I thought of was that Mike Tyson’s daughter died in his home accidentally. People are more on guard about things when outside the home, when really it should be the other way around.

I love doing 3-4 day mini-vacations. One big trip would stress me out since I do have a finite limit on my vacation time, and I don’t like the idea of using it all up at once.

To be fair, if a lot of your friends feel alienated because of an action of yours, and they don’t know each other (like on Facebook), you might want to do some reflection.

My 67 year old father drives up and down 95 (NJ to NC) regularly alone and he checks in all the time. He has a dumbphone but if he was driving through remote areas I’d made him get an iPhone or something.

I admit that as a female I am hesitant to stop if I am alone. The other day I did stop to ask a woman whose car was pulled over if she needed help (her car was in a really weird spot, she said it just died). But she said the tow truck was on the way, and that she was good so I kept going.

A lot of folks do buy paper mache thinking it’s wood. At least at IKEA you know what you’re getting. And some of there stuff is (literally) pretty solid.

I think one thing to consider is that most places are corporate now, and thus employees are bound by polices. Plus stores get audited and no one wants to have to justify why they gave people so many discounts—they do check for that and sometimes it can be a detriment to your store.

OMG..this woman brought up a mosaic bowl and wanted a discount because there were some loose tiles floating around inside. Now, I knew sometimes the tiles would fall off, but who was to say that those tiles in the bowl came from that particular item? I told her I’d give her 10% off if she could find where they came…
