Well, time to get angry at me.

I’ll say what I always say about Star Citizen: I have paid no money for it, do not own a computer than could even play it, ever, and my experience with it is pre-pandemic trials at my friend’s place that were extremely janky and broke a lot. My skin in the game is nothing.

But every time I played the game I saw the

“Russian hackers, FUCK OFF!”

Good for them. These hackers are fucking awful: “Just because our country is literally trying to murder you is no reason for you to not... localize the game for Russians”.

Entitled pricks. Like, sorry - the devs aren’t monkey forced to dance for your amusement.

Was the cure real? Did they act against Ellie’s wishes? Was Joel justified? These questions all share the same answer: dear god please fucking kill me I can’t do this anymore.

Jesus Christ. It’s absolutely standard for bank failures to sell the bank’s assets in an attempt to make the depositors whole, because it’s absolutely vital for the functioning of the economy for people to be able to trust that they can put their money in banks. That’s part of the whole FDIC process: the Fed provides

Wow, this is just an uninformed take. The banking part is being helped, which is the part where people gave them money and said, “hey, keep this money safe for me so I have it available for my financial responsibilities, like payroll.”

I don’t know if all of the depositors will be getting reimbursed 100%. That’s certainly the goal, but it will come down to offloading SVB’s assets and what the Feds kick in on top of that.

You should probably add that the FDIC has said that the cost of this bailout will be paid for the banking sector as a whole through a special assessment (i.e. higher FDIC insurance costs), not by the taxpayers. That makes it different from the 2008 bailouts.

Absolutely loved this season and excited for the next.

Not to kick a wasp’s nest here but I think your definition needs to be a bit more detailed. Otherwise anyone can decide to be offended by anything and claim exclusive right with whether or not that thing should exist. In some cases, it’s painfully obvious when that should be true, but it’s also a pretty easy “rule” to

One tech advancement that has made my life so much easier: scan and go. I have sensory sensitivities that often make big box stores a hellscape for me, and I have a ticking clock in my head that means I need to leave immediately when it runs out. In Meijer and Sam’s Club, you can scan your items with your phone in

The movie’s sophomoric, but I actually think it has a lot of funny lines within its puerile framework. “Give to Oediups, Give to Oediups; Hey Josephus” “Hey, motherfucker!” is a pretty solid one. “It’s good to be the king” is a pretty incredible Brooksian delivery. And the Inquisition song has a bunch of good puns.

So for this to be enjoyable, it’ll need a miracle?

(far-off whinny)

Dragon Age has never had any respect for non-humans who think that their culture is worth protecting.”

Hm. You know, despite the fact that I tend to dislike Japanese games—or maybe because of that, even—I completely get where he’s coming from.

I always thought JRPG was just shorthand for "Kill God with the power of Friendship"

Rocky III among the worst? Wrong! It isn’t the best Rocky movie, but it’s good! Clubber is great, and it tells a story about complacency and fear.

Counterpoint-Rocky III is a fantastic movie and frankly, is superior to Rocky IV. You have a much better “villain” in Clubber Lang than Ivan Drago (who’s only reason for existence is because of the Cold War) and it cements the growth in Rocky and Apollo’s relationship from rivals to friends, which lays the groundwork
