Thank you for this canonical explanation, it was a point of frustration even considering the liberties the series takes, for me. Aside from just generally not considering AC a game about boss encounters.

I agree about the wolf, but for me its more about npc reactions (or lack thereof) that really put me off riding the crazy mounts in AC games.

You guys are so particular. They didn’t speak English like they do in the game, in those eras either. I rode the death horse and it was fucking awesome.

What about riding the Pegasus?  That one had a bonus in it wouldn’t be killed upon falling from great heights.

Sure, in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey you can fight a minotaur. But maybe that was just a story that was told so much it became a memory.
