There isn't anything to see.

Interesting question. I wonder how far back you would need to go? Six day war? Vietnam?
Very sad deal, and tons of theories.
Yes, objection overruled, because it's not for the truth of the matter, and clearly this dude is, as your say, a GD sociopath.
It's weird, I don't think I would mind one iota of staying in a old house that had served as a field hospital in the Civil War, but I would blanch at staying in one where there was a triple homicide or other violent crime.
Visiting a NPS battlefield and paying respects is entirely different in my mind to living in a home that is the scene to trauma, but I guess I'm weak willed.
It's not torturing, it's presence of mind not to go blasting around unless it a deserted road in the middle of nowhere.
Kind of a 2014 version of the Boss 429.
Ha! I'm not good enough at fixing things to have that philosophy!
These guys were Holman and Moody, and this is one of Fred Lorenzen's cars. Fred was inducted into the NASCAR hall of fame last week.
That steel wheel wasn't the only steel object in that car. To drive these death traps, the drive had to own a couple. When everyone talks about the wanting race cars to be production based, I think of these photos and Fireball Roberts.
My favorite, because I'm a huge Holman Moody fan.
Odd. It's probably like batting, there isn't one true way to do it. I did mine a Miller Motorsports Park. It was a helluva time.
It does look cooler with a proper transmission.
Repetition, I'd say.
When I went to driving school they said that that was proper. 3 and 9 and keep your hands on the wheel.
I guess my take away is that NASCAR in Smokey's time was really ran by Bill France, in a way that it isn't ran today, and Bill pulled stunts like the 427 SOHC. The rules are tighter today, and written down.
Have you read his autobiography? I would think that Smokey would have been a difficult person to get along with if you disagreed with him in any way.
Nothing is what it once was. A great deal of this is because of safety.
Three my ass, how about the second place guy being within fourteen laps of the leader?
