There was a typo. The first sentence originally read "A game's narrative isn't merely it's script or it's visuals..." It should be "its" and not "it's."

Really, I don't disagree with you- text-to-speech isn't 100% accurate but it would be good enough, I think.

Sure, but what about entering game redeemable codes or your email address to log in to Netflix, Hulu etc. Think of the possibilities...

You know what would solve the whole "txt messaging people on PSN/Xbox live" thing? If they just built a microphone into the controller and allow text to speech. Maybe they could add that functionality with a software update and then any gaming headset would gain text-to-speech functionality...
