That woman is an asshole and most definitely a racist as well.

Not big pig.

The croutons add carbs.  I think the best we can hope for would be a radish.

A shit salad maybe. People, be an asshole in public and it will not go well for you. Especially entitled salad eating white women like this one.

“I eat salads, ok?”

Hey, it was a legit tax cut. It just wasn’t a tax cut for *you.* (or anyone in the bottom 98% of earners.)

Every year I’ve got at least 1k refund. I own a house, I have a full time job, a part time job, I pay get to deduct the interest on my student loans, my mortgage, and I even got to deduct a ton of medical bills after I had a pretty bad car accident early on in 2018. Yet I still owed this year for the first time. in

yerp, I’d been telling people who were celebrating the “tax cuts” this as well... “but revnis the IRS says everything is good for everyone how can you be so stupid” they said.

I’ve had a refund every year since I first started filling taxes at age 16 - and this year I OWED a significant chunk of money. I file single, no investment income, the most complicated thing I have to itemize is a mortgage, and my deduction was even higher than the standard. And yet, after getting a good-sized refund

It’s not a windfall, I know it’s my money, but I still prefer to receive a refund.

And sometimes what makes it worse, is, at least for me personally, I don’t want to be a burden on people.
Like I know that I should reach out, but I know they have their own lives and what not, and I just leave them alone.
Delving further into my psyche, I also am too either detail oriented or paranoid where I notice

Let me spew some advice about depression, at least from the POV of someone who has dealt with it for a while now. Just one point — I want to make it the Important One that also people don’t talk about.

I was going to run a background check on myself using one of those links, but they wanted 30 buck$ and I already know everything, so I’ll go out to dinner instead.

The difference, though, is that Valvoline and Grease Monkey aren’t lobbying to prevent self-renewing oil from being the new standard, despite being proven to work elsewhere. The IRS has everything they need to cut a check or send a bill, but Intuit and H&R Block are standing in the way. That’s not paying for

The only tax related organization that I hold in lower regard than TurboTax is “Liberty Tax Services”, who have people stand out on the sidewalk dressed as the statue of liberty, and wave to people.

True, true. And they are in cahoots with the government in the great withholding/refund scam. People look at their refund as some sort of windfall from the government - it’s not, it’s YOUR OWN money being returned to you after being held, interest-free, by the government.

It’s true. NPR’s Planet Money did a great podcast on it. Our country’s tax process is far more complicated than those of other countries, and our tax companies lobby to keep it that way. (They are aided to some extent by anti-tax advocates, who argue that making paying taxes simple would make it easier to raise taxes.)

The predatory for-profit income tax industry remains one of the top ways to get me grumbling filth and foul like a man twice my age. And it’s completely unnecessary! It would be entirely feasible for the government to send you an already-tallied bill or refund on April 15!

Ditched TurboTax this year in favor of FreeTaxUSA and will never look back. Half way into my free edition return TurboTax springs it on my that I need the Deluxe Edition to itemize my deductions this year. So I go from free file to suddenly 40 for fed AND another 40 for state. Not itemizing anything nuts. Just

Wayment......isnt TurboTax the ones with those terrible ads with people saying “FREE” over and over again? How the fuck is that not false advertising?  Why would anyone use TurboTax?
