Nah, I CAN do that without picking up. Just long press the entry in your call log. Then you get a list of options, including “block” and “not spam”

Love that the newest versions of Google’s Dialer (Phone) app address spam calls. Not only can you report a call as spam, but then Google uses that data to warn you of a “probable spam” calls right there in the caller ID when they call.
