The difference is when Joe Everydude defaults on his loan, it’s really only a problem for himself. When banks and ratings companies screw up and encourage a million Joes to make their dumb decisions, it becomes a problem for the global economy. 

I haven’t listened/watched in a while but I felt the same way. It’s funny without being mean-spirited, each of the guys brings something to the show, they get top tier guests and Dan has fantastic rapport with everyone he talks to. 

There’s literally nothing stopping you from learning more about whatever you want to learn about.

They actually asked him if he’s UNable to understand people that take anything competitively, so saying “nope” is correct.  If you’re going to make multiple posts making fun of someone for not being able to comprehend, you really want to make sure that you know what you’re talking about first.

My dude, if you think the time when children are being killed and kept in cages because half the country decided a reality tv clown was our best choice is not the time to rethink what we want our politicians to be, I don’t know what to tell you.

Maybe no one said it out loud, but you just have to look at 99.9% of the candidates that we’ve had over the last few decades to see that those are the only two archetypes that appear.

Again, other than completely retreating from society and living off the grid, there’s not much I can do about all the indirect ways my everyday actions funnel through capitalism to hurt people, but I can make the choice not to support those who directly hurt people. Not sure why this is hard for you to process.

Yeah, I’m aware of how capitalism works and what companies do, but I appreciate the lesson. I’d still rather invest my money with a company whose primary focus is something other than manufacturing tools to kill and maim other people.

Are you really pretending not to understand the reasons that someone might not want to fund gun makers and oil companies?  REI exists to make money, but I’d rather my money go to someone selling bicycles and hiking socks as opposed to smith and wesson.
