Exactly. I think the reviewer nailed the comparison to Network. It was a very effective episode to nail home a concept.

Dave is decent. It has some pretty high highs though. My problem with it is it feels like it wants to be Atlanta but it doesn’t have the creative forte behind it.
Really important fact you either glazed over or missed entirely: E from the bar was the same guy as the guy in the boat at the start of the season. It might recolor that first scene as well.
3rd, 19 years later… bitches? We probably shouldn’t use that word anymore…
Agreed. It’s slowing a bit here and I wish it’d make more progress on reveals but I’m in no way upset about the current progression. And Turturro’s character definitely does him more justice than The Jesus (though maybe less than his turn as a flunkie defense attorney in Ths Night Of).
If you’re new to reading into movies, it has layers. And those layers tend to wow people who had never previously bothered to delve into storytelling. I think for that reason it becomes a cornerstone for a lot of people on their intellectual movie watching journey and just sticks there since it was so pivotal.
The reviewer seems to either be a shill or woefully inadequate at actually reviewing a movie. I used to use av club to decide if a movie was worth seeing, but I guess I’ll have to use my own judgment now.
You’re joking, right? It doesn’t even touch Cars in terms of quality. This movie has the storytelling maturity of a mall sensory ride.
Holy fuck this movie was bad, and now I have to wonder what is going on with AVC’s movie review standards.
If this applies to Harleys, I’m fine with it. (I say this as an avid moto rider)
You’re right, I should just stick with getting that new up-powered Miata.
Hear, hear. Ya’ll a bunch of sell-outy motherfuckers.
As an Apple user, I too would suggest switching to Android. I’m lost. You can still be saved.
More importantly, Apple has a stranglehold on developers’ minds and imaginations for native app development. Go work basically anywhere besides the US government as a developer, and your standard starting rig is a (insert latest year) Macbook Pro. I don’t know if it’s the machine, the latent BSD, Mac OS itself (which…
Ironically, our prefontal cortext (which allows us to develop an incredibly nuanced manner for communication, none of which is present in this demonstration).
The GOP would never say it out loud, but they’ve accept this as a fact of life for #secondamendmentrights. That’s why they don’t offer or even acknowledge any options.
Re: the 200; I agree completely. I am a diehard euro and Japanese imports guy so when I rent a car, it’s always a disappointment. Got one of these as a rental once and was completely astonished. It was fun to drive, quick, nice interior. I couldn’t understand why I hadn’t heard more about the thing.
In later Fringe eps, Torv is able to flex her acting chops a lot more, and ends up being an actor I actually shed tears for her performances. It surprised the hell out of me then too.
I’ve got an ‘02 330i with 170k miles on it, and it runs like a dream. Just had to replace a thermostat with a crummed-out gasket (looks like someone hot-fixed it). $120 fix and took a total of 2 hours (because I was being slow and lazy). Granted anecdata is not data, but I think these cars run as well as you take care…
I wish someone would break my neck when I see one in person.
