What is wrong with people? This is the kind of thing that might somehow strike a person and be mildly amusing in a dark way, but if you are a decent person you don’t pursue it because it is ableist and mean. Not everything that runs through your head has to be vocalized let alone put out there on the internet.

That’s unfortunate!

You can probably find some private pet rescue group with any crazy policy you name, but it’s not a blanket policy. An actual shelter affiliated with local government might ask some questions about plans for the animal or they might encourage adopting an older animal rather than a puppy or a kitten.

There are pet rescue groups that are nuts, but there are generally low barrier shelters around too. I feel like way too many people try one or two nutty rescue groups and give up and go with a breeder. I wish they did a better job of letting people know the difference between low barrier shelters and nutty rescue

We do have lots of choices, but we definitely pay for it.

Good thoughts for your fluff ball. Even with one cat on my lap and another next to me, I miss my first fluff ball that died almost a year ago at 21. He had lived with me for 19 years. So basically my whole adult life. The new pair is awesome, but I still him him.

Would Veritas 1865 like to run for mayor of DC? Or a seat on city council?

Sometimes I read these articles and think “who raised these awful people?” My mother is perhaps not the most woke person in the world, but most of this is baseline behaving like a decent person.

I’m sure it’s not for lack of trying.

They do. They just think money is fungible so it doesn’t matter. While there is some truth to the idea, what they don’t seem to understand is that pap smear aren’t marked up 400% to subsidize abortion.

I’m kind of surprised no one has started floating laws about how public employees can spend their own money. Not that it would be Constitutional, but that doesn’t seem to be a barrier to passing dumb laws.

My exact thoughts too.

These students’ organizing game is on point. So much better the list of student demands at my alma mater made which ranged from “seriously they *still* haven’t fixed that,” to mildly annoying things that seemed out of place.

He’s a big guy from the suburbs in the South. He has no frame of reference for the creepy guy who tries to hug you on public transportation. Also, kind of a contrariain.

I agree.

That’s kind of amazing. I’m in legislative branch agency that’s nonpolitical, but if I wasn’t I could probably use it. BTW I love your church building. I’ve been there for a couple of events.

I love being in a legislative branch agency more than ever now.

I think part of the problem was even “good” men didn’t always see the behavior in the same way women do. So it’s a way of rating the seriousness of behavior that doesn’t require interpretation.

Next on the low hanging fruit list is paying for pictures of the president, vp, and cabinet secretary to be hung in all the conference rooms. It’s just creepy. Like I’m not sure who is in a meeting in a conference room at a federal agency office building and can’t recognize the head of the agency, President and Vice

Care of infants is kind of a closer to one on one thing. Or really multiple adults to baby ratio. Human babies don’t come in litters because they are SO needy compared to other mammals.
