It is not in surplus anymore. It hasn’t been for several years. The excess benefits are already being funded out of other tax revenue and borrowing.

The Trust Fund isn’t an actual fund. It’s a bunch of IOU’s the Federal Government gave itself when it took all the excess SS taxes and spent it on other stuff.
When you see “Trust Funds” read it as “IOU’s the Federal Government gave itself to replace all the actual Social Security tax revenue it used on other stuff over the many decades.” There is no “Fund” in any normal sense of the word. The money to pay all the benefits which aren’t covered by current workers’ Social…
If you have a front loading washer that has the habit of rocking or vibrating a lot on the spin cycles, I’d add one other upgrade - foam or rubber padding under the feet. You can use some dense foam you might have left over from something else, or buy a specifically designed set. http://www.amazon.com/Anti-walk-Sile…
Not sure it’s “bad” that we don’t have laws allowing people to sue their [ex] employer for getting fired allegedly for having a tattoo. People are presumably adults and can decide if the potential social and economic costs are worth getting a tattoo. It’s not like racial discrimination where a person has no choice.
I don’t have any caching/lag issues. Loads up my library pretty much instantly.
Same as the others have said....Plex works great on my Roku (the Roku 3).
Not to mention “gun deaths” in this statistic (as is usually the case with gun control groups) includes suicides. Given that suicides make up the majority of “gun deaths”, that significantly skews the figures.
The length of your mortgage makes a big difference for this. If you can swing a 15 year mortgage, much more of each payment will go to paying down principle. In my case the ratio (2 years in) is about 2.5/1/1 (Principle/Interest/Escrow for property taxes).
No need to wait for the paint to dry. But make sure you watch the pot of water you are trying to boil. :)
Yup! Although I’ve heard that you should carefully score the excess paint a bit away from the wood so you leave a small strip of paint on the glass. This will help seal the window against moisture.
I think it’s also important to note that SS went cash flow negative in 2010. That means that it paid out more in benefits than it collected in taxes. The result? SS benefits had to be paid from General Federal Revenues. These days that means the Federal Reserve prints more money.
At least in the case of 401k’s the money is yours. You can review your statements and see the fees, etc. You can then choose to invest in other funds - usually the best you be an index fund (like an S&P 500 one) which have very low fees.
Easy to be a douchebag on the internet, isn't it?
