I think what the interface really needs is some sort of universal search. Why? because when you aggregate content from so many different sources(espn, zune video, zune music, netflix, whatever else there is) it makes it difficult to find what you want, they should have a universal search, which would search whatever

who...cares...?

@fa11enSpectre: yeah but windows 7 apps are often a bitch to use on a touchscreen, and HP putting some fancy skin over guts of windows 7 is just going to get in the user's way.

I really like this idea, and I would love this as I consider myself an "active" reader. I would love to see how something relates the media today, or a visual representation of sources. However, most people really just want to read, meaning "all that other stuff" gets in the way, and work is wasted creating detailed

@neverbeenback: the problem with coffee is that it is follows the uncertainty principle, by measuring it, you change it. So, if you measure how good it is, it could be bad because you measured it.

at first I read "human fiber optics could give sense to severed limbs"

the problem for other (practical) applications is that it is doing all of these things based on sensors in the room, not on the robot (at least I think so, correct me if I'm wrong). I'm guessing this is more of a" look at the cool algorithms and stuff we made", and less of "we are going to sell it to the military"

@Hvedhrungr: it's meant to replace everything in a student's backpack basically, so it is OK if it is a little bigger than the macbook as not much else will be in the bag.

I really want this for school. This would mean that this is the ONLY thing Iwould need to carry, it would have all of my books, textsbooks, notes, and anything else school related. This thing is meant to basically be a student's backpack replacement, not a tablet for the everyday consumer.

is this basically instead of a google nexus two?

@Chris Hill: true, but the problem lies that if you just turn one controller off and another one on (at least for the xbox), even though only one is on, it still recognizes it as player 2. which means you actually have to swap out the battery packs, which isn't a big deal anyway though. I don't know, I think it

what I really want is for microsoft to port the software to windows, using the same recognition software for computers would be hundreds of times better than most of the stuff out there now. I could also see the kinect working as a 3D scanner of sorts.

I wouldn't really be surprised if the interests, reading ability etc. varied a significant amount if you collected data from people who do not use dating sites. However, I understand that it wasn't really the point of the article to do so. Also, it would be much more difficult to get that kind of data.

Is it wrong/weird that I don't find this that bad? I mean a future where things are accurately recommended to me doesn't sound so bad.

@OMG! Yinzers Love Ponies!: also, they don't sell individual batteries, so if you want to charge all of your controllers with the same charger (just swapping out a controller when necessary) you would need to buy two chargers, eliminating the need to do the above in the first place.

why not 4 controllers? wouldn't that be better because the max number of controllers useable would be charged?
