Absolutely, using used parts on an area thats generally easy to access like an alternator are no-brainers. More complex area that are hours of labor not so much.

I understand what you mean 100%. But when you try to explain something like that to a customer it goes likes this most of the time:

I made the exact same point in a previous response on this article. Very true!

Great article, it is a waste of time when customers stop by asking to “price match” Amazon or some random online retailer on parts. People don’t understand that the mark up on parts covers the labor for warranty repair’s as well and anything else that may go haywire. As you said, the parts a shop proivdes are most

“I mean, I get the point here, but who takes their car to an indie that doesn’t allow you to supply your own parts? Is this particularly common these days? Genuine question, I don’t know.”

1) VW is a German company, the typical American mindset is that German cars steaming piles of crap. So of course, why not jump on the hate band wagon.

I find it sad that there’s more outrage about VW selling cars that pollute a bit more then advertised, than GM killing people.

  1. VW should buy back customer’s “clean diesels” at full price.

WTF is that, looks like its mixed with a Aston Martin body/rear end with extended Camry headlights.

Due to your back luck streak with used cars, you should buy a scary used German car car with a warranty and see whats happens, like a car that no sane person would buy without a warranty. Maybe a 2009 SL65 AMG, you know. a V12 twin turbo. See whats happens.

I think they could have done a better job on the parking sensors.

Perfect Liberal mindset, guy is aware of the fact that he made a mistake but believes its not his responsibility to deal with it. Instead its the company’s fault and the company should fix it.

Don’t forget that the GTR eats tires and brakes like a mofo.

I was changing my auxiliary belt on my 2001 S500 and spark plugs, after i finished the install i went to crank the car and as soon as i cranked it i heard a deathly terrifying metal clunking (like your engine running with no oil clunking) noise and a REALLY loud metal BANG noise, it sounded like a gunshot went off. I

People still buy Buicks?

If i had the choice between the Suzuki, Fiat, and SmartCar. I’d go with the Suzuki. Looks like a fun car to drive.

OH god i had a good one for you guys. I had a 2003 Mazda Protege5 (wagon) for sale on craigslist a few months ago, it had like 160k miles on it and i just did the headgasket on it. I put it up for $3000 FIRM and put a address where the car is located and will be (shop plaza), all other examples locally were selling

Can i buy an M5 and immediately default on the loan? I promise to pay $5k in fee’s upfront and i’ll put down another 5k sometime in the future as long as i can keep the car. After that i promise i won’t buy anymore BMW’s.

I didn’t really get anything from his review/rant. It seemed unfocused. He went over the fact that it has 707hp and that’s its impractical. Okay?

No one can.
