I’m guessing the 4-hour cut explained the underground cult a little more? It felt like they came out of nowhere thirty minutes before the movie ended and were meant to deliver some sort of thematic punch to the main character’s inner conflict, but instead delivered some last-minute plot propulsion.
That scene of him doing the second test was so good. I saw it in one of those Dolby theaters with the bass under the seat and that was the only scene that really made the technology shine. Anyway, I would totally watch a 4 hour cut of this movie
