Only problem I have with it is that the Simpsons’ hairstyles shouldn’t get *more* sensible when drawn as anime.

They’ve come up with a list of actors who could appear in the show.

Being tricked into saying his transformation word was how Black Adam was beaten in his first appearance.

Reshooting all of an actor’s scenes most of the way through filming could be an expensive option, depending on how many scenes and locations they’re in and how much interaction they have with the rest of the cast.

Though a film about Fu Manchu’s son did pretty well at the box office last year (okay, massively rewriting the Fu Manchu character along the way.)

Of course, in some parallel universe, that’s exactly what happened.

The Vanity Fair article does add some details which haven’t been reported before. Probably would’ve been better if the summary here had led with a couple of those.

It’s still played that way in Orkney, there’s a couple of matches held around the New Year.

Which would be similar (in terms of reversing the familiar ending) to what The Jungle Book remake did, as well

Geppetto (Tom Hanks) literally builds Pinocchio to be a replica of his own dead kid. The story doesn’t delve into that idea much further, but it forms a creepy foundation for their future relationship.

“what is the big deal with this movie?”

It’s in the first sentence of one translation of Franz Kafka’s The Trial, that’s the main place I know it from. (The more common version has ‘telling lies about’ instead.)

Permanent shelving at this budget once the cameras have started rolling is rare, though, isn’t it?

Dune takes place over a few years, and the next couple of books cover about another twenty. If anything, the leads are going to be too young.

The continuity of artistic style in Ancient Egyptian is very striking, but there were still plenty of civil wars, changes of borders and foreign dynasties in their history, as well as social changes that would have looked less subtle from the inside than the outside.

Felt like it went completely wild on things that couldn’t be done on a TV budget, with not nearly enough attention paid to how those limitations shaped what Buffy was.

I wouldn’t be surprised if “Facade” (another story from volume 3) gets dropped, though. The show’s downplaying DC universe connections for a couple of reasons, and the protagonist of that story is an ex-superheroine. It’s also a more important element than it is for Lyta Hall.

They were already charged with felony burglary, though they seemed to have potential to commit worse than that.

I guess if you had a story about several people body-swapping, having a case where it barely matters would be a decent background joke.

Sandman isn’t likely to come off as fragmentary as American Gods, at least. While it has its overarching story, every arc has an ending of its own.
